According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), common corona viruses often cause symptoms of cough and runny nose and mild colds. However, some coronaviruses can also cause serious infections in the lower respiratory tract and cause pneumonia. The new corona virus appears more severe in some patients. However, to date, deaths have mostly occurred in patients who have previously suffered from serious underlying diseases. Patients with confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection have reported mild or severe respiratory disorders, including the following symptoms:

• Fever
• Cough
• Shortness of breath

The Federal Health Education Center now assumes that the incubation period is up to 14 days. Accordingly, it is assumed that after exposure the symptoms of SARS-CoV-2 may appear within 14 days.
